Dan sent me this article yesterday about Benazir Bhutto's son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and how he's vowed to take over the leadership of the Pakistan People's Party as soon as he graduates from Oxford. (Yeah, talk about post-college employment, right?) Aside from the whole weirdness of the entire situation (to quote Bilawal himself: "People have questioned why I talk about the virtue of democracy whilst coming into power through such undemocratic means. I can say this much in response: These are the right questions to be asking. These questions are what the foundations of democracy and a free society are built on. The important thing is not to stop questioning."), there's this choice quote:
In a message posted on his Facebook page following the announcement, Bilawal portrayed himself as a student who likes eating junk food and watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," but who is eager to take up the challenge of his birthright.
I can't even fully evaluate how strange the first portion of that paragraph is. (It's not like he has a Facebook page for marketing his campaign or something. He has it cause he's a freaking college student. I would like to see the day I post messages to the entire world about my political ascendancy on my Facebook page.) I can count one awesome thing, though. Yes, I am talking about Buffy. Dan's comment? "Well, he's got your vote."

You inspired me to add Bilawal as a friend. I would find it incredibly amusing to browse his profile.
