Box offices over time

This chart of movie box office sales over time is pretty cool... I can't remember where I found it but it's a fun visualization (visualization seeming to be the theme of the afternoon). It definitely re-emphasizes the big hits in an interesting way, and highlights a few that you wouldn't have thought would have made much of an impression. Also it really highlights those summer blockbuster periods and Academy Award cram sessions.
