Jazz Old Hands

What I need is for this list to be boiled down to like, the top 10, or 5, and then maybe I could finally get into jazz like I've always said I wanted to.

Couldn't you assume that a top 5 or top 10 list would include the top 5 or 10 of the top 100 list?

i can't be sure that the top 5 of this list are in priority order or whatever... besides i feel like i might want more artist variety. however, that did cross my mind.

I never like these top whatever lists, while I have always been a music lover. For like the last twenty years, on a ton of top rock songs of all time, the winner is very often "free bird", free bird !!!! aacckkkk!
so listen to music you want to listen to.
I have some cool jazz albums (vinyl). No, not just my goofy collection of 80's California fusion. Which I hear , by the way is big in the sampling/electronic community.
But good old jazz.
