These little bastards have been showing up all over campus this week. They are seriously freaky. I don't usually mind caterpillars (I like the fuzzy black ones) but these ones are taking over! This morning as I walked to work I realized that there are parts of eaten leaves, all torn up, scattered on the ground underneath all the oak trees. It reminds me of "On the Banks of Plum Creek" when the grasshoppers eat everything living... These little buggers are eating up my springtime! At least they don't eat flowers... wildflowers are all over campus (probably strategically placed there by landscapists but wildflowers nonetheless) and I am giddy over them. But the caterpillars? They have got to go.

Caterpillars
