circles
i seem to have ended up back where i began...
meaning that tonight i drove back from stanford at 12:45 am and the streets of palo alto looked like the streets of whittier on a friday night... no cars. only lonely traffic lights as far as the eye could see, and suddenly solemn-looking neon lights. i think only gas stations and happy donuts were open, and while i didn't quite count the cars like i used to in whittier, it certainly couldn't have been more than a dozen or so.
there's something very soothing about driving on city(ish) streets when no one else is there. it's very roadtrippy and i have to say i miss that - driving into a city at night so you don't actually know what it looks like and then in the morning it surprises you.
