Personality-mapping the United States

This has already been multiple places online, including my friend Rachel's blog, but please explain why there is a strong neurotic population in Oklahoma? I don't get it.

If they had interviewed me for this study they would have got one solid purple dot over in the San Francisco Bay Area. Damn hippies.
